Scan business cards to contacts on iPhone
The fastest way to lose a contact is to leave it on a paper card. The fastest way to keep it is to scan the card straight into your iPhone's Contacts, where you will actually find it again. Fandeck does exactly that, on the phone itself: no account, no cloud, nothing uploaded.
How it works
- Point the camera at the card. Fandeck finds the edges, waits until the shot is sharp and takes it for you. Name, title, company, every phone number, email, website and address are read on your iPhone in seconds, in English, Arabic, Chinese and dozens of other languages, on both sides of the card.
- Check the flagged bits. Anything the phone was unsure about is highlighted, so you fix it in a tap.
- Save to Contacts. One tap and the person is in your iPhone Contacts, with their details in the right fields.
Why on-device matters
Most scanner apps ask you to create an account and then keep your contacts in their cloud. Fandeck has no account and no server of its own: cards are read by the text recognition built into iOS and stored only on your phone, left out of iCloud backups. The only time anything leaves the device is when you send it yourself.
Good to know
- Scanning a whole pile takes minutes with Rapid mode.
- Duplicate contacts are found and can be merged, so the same person does not appear three times.
- You can also export to CSV and vCard, which is the way to get contacts into Outlook or Google Contacts.
- Your first 50 cards are free, with every feature included. Unlimited cards and export are part of Fandeck Pro: $2.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or $59.99 once, for life (US App Store prices, checked October 2026).
