Multilingual business card scanner
Cards in any script, both sides.
Fandeck reads Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Latin-script cards on your iPhone. When a card has a different language on each side, it reads both and shows yours first.
The two-sided card problem
In the Gulf, China and Japan, many business cards carry English on one side and Arabic, Chinese or Japanese on the other. Most scanners read one side, guess at the other, or ask you to pick a language first. You end up with half a contact.
How Fandeck reads them
- Both sides. Scan the front and the back, and Fandeck reads the whole card, not just one side.
- Your language first. The side in your phone's language is shown first, with the other one a tap away.
- Many scripts. Latin-script languages such as English, French, German and Spanish, plus Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and more.
- On the phone. Reading uses the text recognition built into iOS, so nothing is uploaded and it works without a signal.
The app itself is available in 74 languages.
