CamCard alternatives in 2026: five business card scanners for people who just want their cards filed
CamCard is the name everyone knows in business card scanning, and lately it has been becoming something else. Its store listings now lead with AI transcription and meeting summaries, with card scanning as one feature among many. If you came for a scanner, the subscription, $49.99 a year on its US store listings, can feel like a lot to pay for a product with different priorities.
Here are five alternatives worth a look in 2026. One of them is ours: Fandeck, and we say so where it appears. Prices were checked in October 2026 against store listings and vendor pages. They change, so verify before you buy.
1. Fandeck (ours)
Fandeck does the whole job on your iPhone. Cards are read by the text recognition built into iOS and stored only on the phone: no account, no cloud, nothing uploaded. It reads any language on both sides of the card, including Arabic, Chinese and Japanese, which matters at any Gulf trade show. Each contact gets its own generated card design, and there are event tags, follow-up reminders, and CSV and vCard export.
Free for your first 50 cards. After that, Pro is $19.99 a year or a one-time $59.99 lifetime unlock. On the App Store from 1 December, with Android following on Google Play.
Best for: people who want a scanner, not a lead-capture platform, and anyone whose cards come in two languages.
2. ABBYY Business Card Reader
The veteran. ABBYY built its name on OCR, and its card reader also works on the device rather than in a cloud. It reads 25 languages and exports toward Salesforce. It is iPhone only, at about $29.99 a year for an individual, and its App Store privacy label lists more data categories than most apps on this page (per our comparison of store listings, September 2026).
Best for: iPhone users who trust a long-standing OCR brand and do not mind a dated interface.
3. HiHello
HiHello starts from the other end: it is mainly a digital business card you share, with scanning added on. The free tier scans about five cards a month, and the individual plan runs about $72 a year. An account is required, and your contacts live in HiHello's cloud, where an Enrich feature adds outside data about the people you meet (per its own policy, September 2026).
Best for: people who mostly want to hand over their own card and scan occasionally.
4. Blinq
Blinq is the team favourite for digital cards: admin controls, CRM integrations, and a scanner alongside. Individuals pay about $88 a year, accounts are required, and contacts are enriched from third-party data providers (per its policy, September 2026). The free tier covers the digital card rather than scanning.
Best for: companies standardising on digital cards for a whole team.
5. Covve
Covve wraps the scanner in a lightweight relationship manager: reminders, notes and a network view. The Individual plan is $120 per user a year on its pricing page, with a free trial rather than a free tier. Cards are processed in Covve's cloud, and the Business plan now includes CRM integrations.
Best for: people who want follow-up reminders and a network manager more than a pure scanner.

One thing worth checking first
Language. CamCard's own store listing names 16 recognition languages, and Arabic is not among them (checked against its Google Play listing, October 2026). If your cards arrive in Arabic and English on opposite sides, that one fact narrows this list quickly. Fandeck reads Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Latin scripts on-device, on both sides of the card.
How to choose
- Want a scanner and nothing else, with your contacts staying on your phone: Fandeck or ABBYY.
- Mostly sharing your own card: HiHello or Blinq.
- Want reminders and a network view on top: Covve.
- Reading Arabic or bilingual cards: check the recognition language list before anything else.
